With the alli program, having a much healthier lifestyle that I can stick to has become second nature.

I’m a 33-year-old mum of two boys who has struggled with weight issues all my life. Recently my husband and I decided to have another baby. But, having another baby after not losing much of the weight I gained with my second child, meant baby number three might not happen without fertility drugs and intervention, neither of which we wanted.

Before having the first two babies I had some success with high-protein, high-fat, and very low-carbohydrate regimen and lost some of the weight. But each time I couldn’t maintain it and fell off the wagon big time. I could not go back on it because if I ate another fat-laden, protein-rich meal with meat and egg without the toast I was going to kill somebody!! I also developed kidney stones from the high-protein diet and realized it probably wasn't the best plan in terms of safety and a healthy balanced diet.

I have been following the alli® program for about a month in preparation for trying for baby number three in the summer. So far in one month I have lost 14 lbs. I also exercise 6 times a week. I try to make healthier choices so I don't experience diet-related treatment effects, but when I do I know exactly what I did wrong and it refocuses me to be better about my food choices.

I check in on Wednesdays and call my husband at work to tell him how much I’ve lost. I know it sounds silly, but I am so excited about the changes I’m seeing that I have to share the news with someone.

So far alli® has allowed me to eat normally with healthier choices and portion control without feeling like I’m on a depriving diet. Calling it a diet would be so wrong anyway. With diets in the past I would serve my time, get results, and get off the diet only to get myself into trouble again as the pounds I lost and then some crept back on.

With alli, having a much healthier lifestyle that I can stick with all the time has become second nature.

I feel the lifestyle changes I have made are a great example for my whole family.

Weight loss has been a constant struggle my whole life; especially after having my second child. After losing some of my pregnancy weight, I reached a weight loss plateau.

I tried a few “magic” weight loss pills, which were supposed to give me more energy, but had the reverse effect. I often would keep eating as much as I wanted while taking these pills, and consequently I put on weight. Other programs also failed me too.

After seeing a commercial for alli®, I was impressed that alli portrayed itself as a program and not a magic pill. alli doesn’t make the promise that it’s going to do the work on its own. I knew that I would have to make a lifestyle change by going on alli, and I respected that. I trust alli because of its proven safety record and because it is approved by the FDA.

I’ve been on alli for 11 weeks and have lost 10 lbs thus far. I feel the lifestyle changes I’ve made are a great example for my whole family.

With alli, I feel like I finally have the tools to make the weight loss permanent.

I’ve been taking alli® for 14 weeks now. In that time, I’ve lost a total of 31 lbs! This is a big achievement for me. I’ve struggled with my weight since I was a teenager. I’ve tried various diets over the years with varying degrees of success, but nothing lasting. With alli, I feel like I finally have the tools to make the weight loss permanent. I have only had diet-related treatment effects twice and that was my own fault for not sticking to the fat grams. It was NOT uncontrollable, just minor, but enough to get me back on track.

My lifestyle has changed dramatically. I eat healthier food, as do my husband and children. Cooking has become something of an adventure – trying out new recipes and creating some of my own while incorporating the rules for the program. I’m exercising five times a week, walking, and doing pretty much anything else my children come up with.

alli has been wonderful for me. I feel like I can conquer this weight and become the person on the outside that I already am on the inside.

I have been getting great support from family, friends, and others.

I lost just over 28 lbs before taking alli®. Then I hit a plateau, so I started on alli eleven weeks ago. So far, I’ve lost an extra 14 lbs. I have about 13 lbs to go to reach my goal weight of 147 lbs.

The diet-related treatment effects are real, particularly if you don’t watch your fat-gram intake at every meal. These effects are a good psychological reminder that you must be vigilant about fat intake. I honestly would prefer to see some oil when I go to the bathroom than have that same fat attached to my body. I’ve had no embarrassing moments that would make me even remotely consider discontinuing my use of alli.

The material provided by the manufacturers is great, and I have been getting great support from family, friends, and others.

For the first time in years, I feel motivated. I feel empowered. I’m seeing the results, and I feel good about myself again.

My weight gain didn’t happen overnight. Once I reached 35 years old, the pounds started creeping on. Before I knew it, my weight was out of control and it seemed like I would never get back to where I was.

In an effort to lose weight, I tried every popular diet fad on the market. From eating low-carbs, to being on the grapefruit diet; when one diet failed, I moved on to the next. After a series of disappointing weight loss attempts, I finally found something that actually worked - the alli® program.

In 13 weeks, I lost a total of 31 lbs while taking alli, and I’ve got 8 more lbs to lose to reach my goal weight. I have gone from a size 13 to a size 7. My weight loss has had a tremendous impact on my life; physically, mentally, and emotionally. For the first time in years, I feel motivated. I feel empowered. I’m seeing the results, and I feel good about myself again. And as far as dietary effects are concerned, I’ve had them twice, but they weren’t bad. I deemed them as positive experiences, because when you have dietary effects, you realize that you have the power to prevent them too.

To those thinking of trying the alli program, you have to be willing to commit to a reduced calorie, lower-fat diet and you have to be willing to become more physically active and do your part. alli isn’t a quick fix; it’s more of a partner in weight loss.

I turned to alli® when nothing else seemed to work. I had hit a plateau in my weight loss and I was very frustrated. I had been working out and eating right and nothing seemed to work. After my second son was born I had a really hard time losing my "baby" weight. I had successfully lost 15-16 lbs on my own however those last 20 seemed to be out of my reach. No matter what I did or how much I worked out, nothing seemed to work. I read up on alli and I thought I would give it a try - nothing else seemed to be working so why not try something new? I saw a difference right away. I had not been under 130 lbs since my first son was born 8 years ago and now I am down to my goal weight of 115 lbs! alli is not like all the other weight loss products out there. alli does not rely on just a pill to do all the work. You have to be willing to make changes in your lifestyle and really look close at all the things you eat every day. alli does not promise to be a miracle pill but it does give you a little extra that helps get you over the hump!! That is what it did for me, it pushed me right over the plateau I had been on for so long and allowed me to reach what I had been striving for so long.

Thanks alli!!.

I have lost 11 lbs by using alli®, eating sensibly, as well as exercise and I feel great. My weight gain started about two years ago after ovarian cancer and a divorce. I had two teenage boys at home to be strong for and I turned to food for comfort. It was fine for the short-term emotional comfort it provided, but the end result left me feeling not happy about my body.

I’m happy to say that I’m healthier both physically and emotionally right now and I have to thank alli for helping along this path. My eldest boy is now a marine while I enjoy everyday I have with my youngest boy - life is good.

The plan is easy and effective; oh and I love the recipe section. Good luck with your journey and remember that your outside should reflect how you feel on the inside so focus on both.

Thanks!

I grew up thin. When I graduated High School I was 118lbs. I left for school and gained the “freshman fifteen” times 4! I tried while I was in school to lose the weight, but with no success. Life goes on, and I wasn’t unhappy, so it didn’t seem like it was all that important. By the time I graduated from college, I weighed 218lbs!

When I was engaged to my school sweet-heart, I tried several different fad diets to lose the weight. I didn’t want to be fat in my wedding photos. Almost all of them made me ill, at one point my now husband threatened to take me to the hospital for a feeding tube because it was making me so ill. The good news was that I was down two sizes for my wedding, but the bad news was that my wedding dress became so tight that I couldn’t breathe. Once I started eating well again, all the weight came back - plus a lot more!

In 2006 I started to change my lifestyle. I had heard that it’s the best way to lose weight and keep it off! I was maintaining, and I even lost 5 lbs! I was so excited. Then I got pregnant with my daughter. I did really well throughout my pregnancy! I only gained 5 lbs and I had an eight pound baby. I walked out of the hospital weighing less than I did before I was pregnant! It wasn’t that I was dieting while I was pregnant, I was just always on the move and I didn’t eat any junk food.

I brought home my beautiful baby girl believing that I could do anything. I did okay when I was on leave from work, but when I went back I gained it all back and a lot more! I think that my busy schedule didn’t help. I would go to work and then come home and take care of my baby, put her to bed and then just grab something to eat for dinner (at 7.30 or 8 o’clock at night).

My daughter turned one in January of this year, and I had not lost any of the weight since she was born. February first, I made the commitment! It was time to just do it! I changed my lifestyle, registered on myalliplan, and started a thread in the forum to get a buddy. On Valentine’s Day I took my first day of alli® pills, and I lost 4lbs in my first week! I did really well for the first few weeks (I lost 13 lbs), and then my diet-buddy disappeared. I have learned something important about me. I do better when I have a person to talk to. They don’t need to do anything in particular; I just need to know that they’re there. I gained 5 of those 13 lbs back before I was able to find another diet-buddy. I’m fortunate. In our thread there are 4 of us, and we all support each other! It is great. I have now lost 14 lbs… and I’m still going! There are days that I feel frustrated, I think that everyone feels that way sometimes, but I know that this is a process that is going to take a while. I’m working hard, and I know that I have support. I love the alli program!

I would like to make this one statement about alli® and it was the easiest diet that I have tried and I would recommend this to all my friends. I didn’t have thyroid trouble on this diet.

I wanted to lose weight for my upcoming wedding that took place on Feb 14, 2008 and I got down from 155 lbs to 139 lbs. I believe that it took me about 5 months to do this. I enjoyed using the meal plans and the exercise program that alli provided me with. alli was different from the other diets because of the meals, they were delicious and there were no strange foods to eat, plus all the other diets I was constantly at the doctors office because of my thyroid. alli has taught me to eat small meals and to walk away from all temptations. I find it very hard at times because my job provides food at least 3 times a week and they’re not healthy meals at that, so I have slipped up a few times but I’ve never given up. I just try harder the next day not to make the same mistakes. The thing that keeps me motivated is the size 10 pants that I can wear now - I never want to go back to the size 14 and weight of 155 lbs. I’m up to 10 kilometers a day and around 7000 steps a day. I only want to say to everyone do not give up, put something up that reminds you why you are doing this - stay motivated.

When I had my last health check, the doctor told me that I had six months to reduce my cholesterol level. So I made the decision to try the alli® program. My starting weight was 161 lbs, some of you may say that's not much, but when I use to weigh 130 lbs 10 years ago, it's a lot for me.

It has actually been one of the most successful program I’ve ever participated in, because it’s completely changed what I eat. Since I started the program I have lost 14 lbs, and even though I find myself going up and down by 2 lbs, I’m very satisfied. My pants are loose and I’m able to wear old clothes that have been put away. A bit of encouragement -when you finally make that decision to do something, this program inspires you to keep going with the message boards, recipes and just knowing you’re not alone.

Thanks alli.

Hello, my name is Nattasha V. and I have been on the alli® program for about 2 months now. I'm only 18 but I have been struggling on and off ever since middle school - familiar story?

It really hit me that I needed to make a serious effort to weight one day at work. I was wearing clothes that I had bought when I was 15 lbs lighter but mistakenly thought they still fit me. It was at this time when not one, not two, but three customers made comments to my manager about how they could see my underwear and tummy because my clothes kept riding up. Not only was I embarrassed but I was disappointed with myself. I felt horrible about my body image and about myself for letting my weight get that high.

I had seen the commercials for alli and talked to some nutritionists about the product but everyone kept warning me that it was a lifestyle commitment with horrible side effects. I was worried about my weight and health but scared to commit. But, after a lot of research, I realised the alli program wasn’t asking me to totally stop eating pizza and chocolate cake, but to just be more moderate with it. Two months later, I'm 10 lbs lighter with 5 more lbs to go until I hit my goal weight. I've learned to eat breakfast (a fizzy drink and a chocolate bar doesn't count!), count my fat and calories, but not obsess over it and I've realised that popcorn with butter and alli don’t go well together.

I'm not an advocate for alli because it's a magical pill that sucks up all the fat in your body. It doesn't. Nothing does. But it helps. From calorie calculators to the myalli support group it truly, truly helps.

I started dieting religiously and exercising daily in mid-2007. I lost about 40 lbs by the end of 2007. I'd done it before, but unfortunately put the weight back on. This time I was determined it would be different. But as happened previously, after losing that amount of weight I hit a plateau. I really couldn't increase my exercise program because I've had rheumatoid arthritis for nearly 40 years, and my daily 3.21 km walk is all the exercise I can manage without unacceptable stress on my joints. And since my husband insists I eat a home-cooked dinner with him daily, I can control portion size but I can't always control food selection.

So I decided I had to do something to get past my plateau. The cost of alli® made me reluctant to commit initially, but I decided to try it despite the cost. In the 2 months since I started alli, I've lost an additional 12 lbs. Not as much as I'd like, but there have been unavoidable setbacks, like visiting family, who absolutely refuse to accept my husband's and my diet preferences. Not much can be done about that if you want to keep peace with the in-laws! Nevertheless I've had the satisfaction of shopping for a few new, flattering clothes at least 3 sizes smaller than I once wore. And I've had the further satisfaction of taking all my plus-sized clothes to the Salvation Army!
